Wet Mica Powder Grinding Mill

Wet ground mica is produced in mills of the chaser type. Grinding surfaces, which must be such as to preserve the luster or sheen of the mica. The mica is fed from hoppers to the mill, where water is added gradlly to form a thick paste. Each batch is ground 6 to 8 hours depending upon the feed material and the fineness desired. After grinding, the mica is discharged to sediment traps where the coarse mica is recycled to grinding. The fine size mica is then screened on a tommel to remove undesirable impurity materials. The mica is then thickened, filtered, and dried.

Mica Powder Grinding Process

Mica is one of the most difficult minerals to grind. Some of the same properties that make mica useful make it difficult to grind. Even thin flakes are though and elasitc and resist abrasion and reduction in size by the conventional types of grinding equipment.

Two processes, dry grinding and wet grinding, are employed to produce ground mica. The products of the two processes differ from each other in certain physical properties. Most plants which beneficiate mica have dry-grinding equipment as an integral part of the plant.

Technological process of wet mica powder mill

1. Mica Crushing

The bulk mica is transported to the raw material bin by special vehicle, and then sent to the jaw crusher by forklift / manual for crushing. The crushing is smaller than the feeding size (15-30mm).

2. Mica Feeding

The mica crushed by the crusher is lifted by the elevator to the storage hopper, which is then discharged and fed to the main machine uniformly by the feeder.

3. Grinding By Grinder

After the mica enters the wet mica powder mill, the qualified products are screened by the screening system and then enter the collector through the pipeline. After collection, the mica fine powder is discharged through the discharge valve, which is the finished product. The unqualified powder falls into the main machine of the wet mica powder mill and is grinded again.

4.Finished Product Collection

The mica powder enters the pulse dust collector through the ventilation pipe connected with the pulverizer, and the mica powder enters the powder collector and waits for packaging. The air flow after pulse cleaning flows into the blower through the residual air pipe above the dust remover. The air path is cyclic. Except for the positive pressure in the grinding chamber of the blower, the air flow in the other pipes flows under the negative pressure. The indoor sanitary conditions are good.
